Given her background in hospital medicine, she is open to caring for children with medical complexity. She also is eager to provide evidenced based medical care that supports the whole child and family. She looks forward to supporting families as their children grow, develop, and learn to become the best versions of themselves. She is excited to join the Blue Fish family to form relationships with families. She was Associate Professor of Pediatrics before she transitioned to the outpatient setting to become a general pediatrician. She is board certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine. She became board certified in pediatrics and worked as a pediatric hospitalist for 14 years where she cared for children with a variety of medical problems, taught pediatrics, mentored research projects, and was the medical director of a team for children with medical complexity. She returned to Houston and completed a pediatric hospital medicine fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital. She attended pediatric residency at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio where the winters made the choice to move back to Texas easy. Her sister and father, both physicians in Houston, assisted at her medical school graduation. She graduated in 2006 from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, which was also her father’s alma mater. After her graduation from Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart, she attended the University of Notre Dame and majored in theology and premedical studies. Zeng enjoys spending time with her family and friends. They welcomed their 2 daughters, Evie and Maddie, into the world in 20. Zeng and her husband, Kai, were married in 2012. She believes that sharing these experiences is not only helpful for her patients, but that she could learn a few things from them as well!ĭr. ![]() She hopes to be able to help her families navigate through parenthood with the knowledge she’s gained through her career and her own personal experiences. Zeng has been caring for her patients in the Houston area in an outpatient private practice since 2015. ![]() Zeng is a board certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She then returned to Texas and received her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch and went on to complete her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 2015. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. She was primarily raised in Dallas, Texas. Yaxi Zeng was born in China, but immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of 1.
